उन्होंने कहा कि हम इस पूरे मामले में स्ट्रांग उच्चस्तरीय इंक्वायरी की मांग करते हैं. जामिया एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन की ओर से कहा गया है काफी बड़ी मात्रा में जामिया की प्रॉपर्टीज़ को डैमेज किया गया है. उन्होंने सवाल करते हुए कहा कि इनका compensate कौन करेगा? उन्होंने कहा कि हम सब का एक जज्बाती नुकसान हुआ है.

जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया यूनिवर्सिटी में नागरिकता संशोधन विधेयक को लेकर विरोध प्रदर्शन कर रहे छात्रों के साथ बर्बरता पूर्वक कार्रवाई के बाद जामिया एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन भी हरकत में आ गया है. वाइस चांसलर ऑफ जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया नजमा अख्तर ने कहा है कि वह यूनिवर्सिटी कैंपस में पुलिस की इंट्री के खिलाफ FIR करेगी.

 

 जामिया एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन की ओर से कहा गया है कि आप उन संपत्तियों को दोबारा खड़ा कर सकते हैं जिनकी छती की गई है, लेकिन छात्रों के साथ जो कुछ हुआ उसका किया होगा. जिस तरह से उनका confidante लॉस हुआ.

 उन्होंने कहा कि कल जो कुछ हुआ वह दुःखद है. उन्होंने कहा कि साथ ही में इस बात की अपील करती हूं कि छात्र किसी भी अफवाह पर ध्यान ना दें. जामिया वाइस चांसलर ने कहा कि कुछ छात्रों के मरने की खबर है लेकिन हम उनका खंडन करती हैं. स्ट्रांग्ली कंडम करते हैं.

 

 उन्होंने कहा कि 200 लोगों के इंजर्ड होने की खबर है लेकिन उसमें से ज्यादातर हमारे स्टूडेंट हैं. AP सिद्दीकी ने कहा कि खबर है कि पुलिस मस्जिद में दाखिल हुई जो कैंपस के अंदर है और उसने लड़कियों का सेक्सुअल एसॉल्ट भी किया है लड़कियों के साथ जिंसी ज़्यादती की है ना हम उन को कंफर्म करते हैं और ना ही इन सभी का इंकार करते हैं. लेकिन क्या सच है, जो कुछ भी है उसका अंदाज़ा जांच के बाद ही पता चलेगा, जिस के लिए सुप्रीम कोर्ट में हियरिंग हो रही है और पुलिस ने भी जांच की बात कही है.

 

JMI Executive Council decries assault against innocent students

The Hon’ble members of the Executive Council (EC) of Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) have decried last night’s brutal assault against innocent students who were preparing for their exams in the university library.

A special meeting of the Executive Council, the principal executive body of the university, was convened this morning to discuss last night’s developments on the campus.

Taking a strong exception to the entry of the police into the campus without permission from the appropriate authorities and unprovoked assault on the students in the library, the Executive Council expressed displeasure and serious concern over the police action that has irreparably harmed the psyche of the students besides destruction of valuable property and infrastructure that takes years to build. The police was initially policing the public street that divides the campus and entered into the university library.

The EC has strongly recommended a high level enquiry to examine all aspects leading to this condemnable action. The university administration has resolved to register an FIR against unidentified police personnel who indulged in violence and vandalism on the campus.

Addressing a press conference this afternoon, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar emphasized the institution’s priority to safeguard and ensure the safety and security of the students.

Prof. Akhtar informed the media-persons that she had already conveyed her reservations and concerns over the police action to the senior officials of the Ministry of Human Resource Development as the police had not sought permission from the authorities to enter the campus.

The Executive Council resolved to extend medical care to all injured students and also took note of the efforts made by the university officials and teachers who worked throughout the night to provide assistance and relief to the injured and detained students.

The Vice Chancellor further clarified that the students staying in the hostels of the university were not being forcibly evicted following declaration of the winter vacation. Rather, they have been advised to proceed to their hometowns. The hostel administration is fully committed and geared up to facilitate the residents in every possible manner for their travel.

She pleaded with the media-persons to be careful in their reporting of the events around Jamia Millia Islamia as its name gets unwittingly dragged into any unpleasant activity that happens in the surroundings of the university.

It is expected from the media to  work as a watch-dog to scotch rumours that are aimed at damaging the credibility of the institution that has had a history of peaceful existence. Jamia has always been an oasis of communal peace and has been marching with the nation towards its ever higher objectives since its
inception, she added.

The press conference was attended by members of the Executive Council, the Registrar, university officials and teachers of the university.
